Ik heb geen aandelen, beloofd. Maar echt: mijn Spotify Premium account is mijn lievelingstientje aan vaste maandelijkse uitgaven. Voor elke gelegenheid stel ik een playlist samen en voor elke playlist bedenk ik een gelegenheid. De gebroken voet-lijst is – mede door input op Instagram – geniaal, al zeg ik het zelf. In dit artikel deel ik 25 songteksten van mooie en motiverende muziek. 

Peptalk tijdens kanker behandeling

Toen ik jaren geleden een behandeling kreeg tegen borstkanker, putte ik veel hoop uit muziek. Elke dag vulden zorgvuldig gekozen woorden en melodieën de ruimte. Ik geloof dat geluid kan helen, fysiek en emotioneel. Harde tonen helpen woede loslaten. Zachte klanken doen ontspannen. Motiverende woorden geven kracht.

Ik begon een lijst: peptalk.

Peptalk telt inmiddels meer dan 450 nummers, goed voor bijna 30 uur muziek. The Chemical Brothers, Ndlovu Youth Choir, Lindsey Stirling, Nas, Faithless, Eels, The Offspring, Pocahontas, Whitney Houston & Fresku – het is een aardige mix geworden.
